Are you interested in learning more about the London Police Service and what our officers do every day?

The LPS Youth Citizen’s Academy gives young people the opportunity to go behind the scenes and learn firsthand about policing in London. This free, six-week program introduces participants to a variety of sections within the London Police Service, with presentations and activities led by members who work in these specialized areas.

Over six weeks, participants will learn about the many different roles and responsibilities that make up modern policing.

Each week, members from different sections of the LPS will share their knowledge, experience and expertise. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the work we do, ask questions and gain a better understanding of the people and services behind the badge.

Whether you’re considering a career in policing or simply curious about how the London Police Service serves our community, the Youth Citizen’s Academy is a great opportunity to learn more.

The Youth Citizen’s Academy runs once a year and is six weeks in length. Applicants must be able to commit to attending all six sessions.

2026 Program Dates:

October 13 to November 17, 2026

When:

Every Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Where:

London Police Service Headquarters, 601 Dundas St, London.

Application Period:

September 10 to September 23, 2026

Those selected to participate will be contacted by a member of the London Police Service.

Applicants must:

  • Be 14 to 18 years of age
  • Be a resident of London
  • Have no criminal record
  • Successfully pass a background check
  • Be available to attend all six sessions
