Chief's Advisory Councils

The London Police Service is excited to introduce two new Chief’s advisory councils and is inviting community members to get involved. Our goal is to continue to build trust, transparency, and partnership with the community.

The Chief’s Community Advisory Council and the Chief’s Youth Advisory Council are now accepting applications from volunteers.

Chief’s Community Advisory Council (CCAC)

Who can apply?

  • Open to current London residents and stakeholders from diverse communities.
  • Positions are for up to two years, with an option for an additional term.
  • Two leadership roles: Chair and Vice-Chair.
  • 12 positions available

Council Activities:

  • Provide advice and help inform internal policy, social equality, budget proposals, and crime prevention.
  • Act as a liaison between the community and the police.
  • Meetings every other month for approximately 90 minutes.
  • An interview and police background check is a mandatory part of the application
  • 12 positions available

Chief’s Youth Advisory Council (CYAC)

Who can apply?

  • Open to youth aged 14 to 18 from London (at time of application).
  • Positions are voluntary with no fixed term length.
  • Two leadership roles: Chair and Vice-Chair.

Council Activities:

  • Share ideas and perspectives on policing.
  • Promote dialogue between youth and law enforcement.
  • Meetings every other month for approximately 60 minutes.
  • Provide advice and help inform internal policy, social equality, budget proposals, and crime prevention.
  • An interview and police background check is a mandatory part of the application
