(FORMERLY POLICE INFORMATION CHECK)

This is a record check that can be used for:

  • Employment
  • Unpaid student placement
  • Volunteer work (not to be used for vulnerable sector positions)
  • Adoption (see the Adoption section of our website for more information)

This record check cannot be used if you will be directly responsible for children under 18 years, elderly or disabled people. If that is the case then you must fill out a Vulnerable Sector Check instead.  The only exceptions being, if you are under the age of 18 applying to work or volunteer for a government agency then the CRJMC is the appropriate level of check. Also, if you are applying to adopt a child or are over the age of 18 and living in a home where an adopted child will reside you will require this level of check (with the Broad Record Check component).

A discharge is not a record of conviction but a finding of guilt, therefore a record of the discharge will exist for the life of the discharge.
