Criminal Record Destruction

If you would like us to destroy your fingerprints and photographs from a criminal charge that did not result in a conviction, you will need to fill out a request for destruction of criminal records form. The back of the form explains the process we follow.

What is destroyed?

We destroy the charge information, fingerprints and photographs. The police report will not be destroyed.

I want to know about...

We send your request to the RCMP and it can take up to 1 year to receive a response. Once we hear back from the RCMP, we will send you a letter about the results of your request.

If you move, or change your phone number before you hear back from us, please call our office to give us your new contact information.

You can request an appeal of our decision not to destroy the information. Please send your request in writing to:
