Collision Reporting Centre

We may direct you to attend the Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) to report a collision you are involved in. We take reports at the CRC for collisions that fit these criteria:
  • There are no injuries
  • No damage to other property (a homeowner's lawn, telephone pole, guard rail, etc.)
  • More than $5000 (Effective January 1, 2025) in combined damage to the vehicles

OR

  • Hit and run collisions where you don't know anything about who is responsible for the damage (for example a licence plate number or description of the suspect vehicle or driver)

You are still required to exchange information with the other involved drivers and witnesses and should do this before going to the CRC. Download our collision pamphlet and keep a few copies in every vehicle you own. It will help you if you are involved in a collision.

I want to know about...

The CRC is run by Accident Support Services

You should report the collision as soon as possible. The law requires the report to be made "forthwith", which means right away.

A hit and run is a collision involving your vehicle where the other driver has failed to exchange any of the required information. If you don't know anything about who is responsible for the damage to your vehicle, attend the CRC to report it.
