SUSPECT SOUGHT AFTER HYDRO POLE CUT DOWN
Police seek public’s assistance
LONDON, ON (October 7, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service (LPS) are investigating after a London Hydro pole was cut down in the south end of the city last night.
On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at approximately 5:45 p.m., a citizen in the area of Exeter Road and Meg Drive heard a loud noise and observed smoke and flames near a hydro pole.
The citizen called 9-1-1, and officers attended with members of the London Fire Department, and London Hydro.
Multiple downed power lines and a hydro pole were located, and it was determined that the base of the pole had been intentionally cut. The damage is estimated at approximately $10,000.
As a result of the incident, a number of London Hydro customers were without power. London Hydro has since completed the repairs, and all power has been restored.
There were no reported injuries.
The investigation has been re-assigned to members of the LPS Patrol Operations Investigative Section.
Images of the suspect and suspect’s vehicle are being released in hopes that someone can identify him.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a ball cap, a black hoodie with writing across the chest and grey pants.
The suspect vehicle is described as a grey SUV, believed to be a 2019 Honda CR-V or similar model.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area between 5:20 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, and witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam, residential or business surveillance footage, to contact the London Police Service.
