SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

UPDATE - LONDON, ON (June 29, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service Major Crime Section have identified and arrested two suspects in relation to a shooting that took place in the downtown core on May 28, 2026.
As a result of the investigation, Khareem Alleyne, 27, of Toronto, and Jahquon Jahzia Lamont, 19, of Scarborough, have been charged jointly with the following offences:
- Two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition;
- Two counts of possess loaded/unloaded regulated firearm;
- Two counts of possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence; and,
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Khareem Alleyne has additionally been charged with the following offences:
- Two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order;
- Aggravated assault; and
- Discharging a firearm with intent to wound, endanger life or prevent arrest.
Both of the accused remain in custody.
Khareem Alleyne is scheduled to re-appear in London court on July 3, 2026, while Jahquon Jahzia Lamont is scheduled to re-appear in London court today, in relation to the charges.

LONDON, ON (May 28, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service Major Crime Section are investigating a shooting that took place west of the downtown core overnight.
On Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 3 a.m., members of the London Police Service responded to the area of Wharncliffe Road North and Blackfriars Street following reports of the sound of a gunshot.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital by paramedic services with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is in its early stages, and it is not known if the suspect and victim are known to one another.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area of Wharncliffe Road North and Blackfriars Street between 2:45 – 3:15 a.m., who may have information, residential or business surveillance footage, or dash-cam footage, to contact police.
