SOUTH END SHOOTING INVESTIGATION
Seeking the public’s assistance

LONDON, ON (July 16, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service are investigating after a gunshot was fired at a residence in the city’s south end early Tuesday morning.

On July 14, 2026, at approximately 4 a.m., residents were outside a home on Julie Crescent when they heard what sounded like a single gunshot. At approximately 5:15 a.m., one of the occupants discovered what appeared to be a bullet hole in the garage door and contacted police.

Members of the London Police Service attended the scene and confirmed that a firearm had been discharged. Additional people were outside the residence at the time; however, no injuries were reported.

With the assistance of video surveillance footage, investigators determined that at approximately 3:45 a.m., a newer-model dark Honda entered the area from Deveron Crescent. The driver exited the vehicle on foot before a gunshot was heard. The suspect then ran back to the vehicle and fled southbound on Julie Crescent at a high rate of speed before turning eastbound onto Deveron Crescent.

SUSPECT VEHICLE

Investigators believe the shooting was targeted.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have information related to the incident to come forward. Anyone who was in the area between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. and has residential or business surveillance footage, dash-cam video, or cellphone recordings is asked to contact investigators.

“A firearm discharged in a residential neighbourhood places innocent community members at risk,” said Detective Sergeant Jon Meinen of the LPS Guns and Gangs Section. “In this case, several people were outside and inside the home when the shot was fired. Gun violence has no place in our community, and we remain committed to identifying those responsible, disrupting violent crime, and removing illegal firearms from our streets. Through enforcement, prevention, and community collaboration, we will continue working to keep London safe. We are asking anyone who may have information, video footage, or who observed suspicious activity in the area to contact investigators as even the smallest detail may assist in advancing this investigation.”

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers
