PUBLIC SAFETY WARNING
Accused released from custody
LONDON, ON (August 11, 2026) – The London Police Service is issuing a public safety advisory and seeking additional information as part of an ongoing investigation involving a London man who has been released from custody.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, police received information regarding threatening statements made by a male. The threats made were to harm, sexually assault, and kill a teenaged girl, known to him.
As a result of the investigation, on July 30, 2026, members of the London Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section arrested and charged Connor Bennett, 19, of London, with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Following a search warrant executed by officers, evidence was gathered during the investigation that led to the following additional charges:
- Possess child sexual abuse and exploitation material; and
- Access child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
Bennett appeared in London court on August 11, 2026, and was released from custody by the courts after a contested bail hearing. The accused is bound by the following bail conditions:
- To reside in Thorold, Ontario
- Not possess any electronic devices or anything that can have access to WIFI
- Not communicate with anybody under the age of 18 years old unless in continuous company of his surety
- Not be in possession of any weapons
A photograph of Bennett is being released in support of public awareness and the continuing investigation.

Based on information obtained during the investigation, the London Police Service has identified concerns for public safety and is taking the additional step of notifying the community. Investigators are also seeking to identify anyone who may have information relevant to this investigation or who believes they may have had contact with Bennett in similar circumstances.
Anyone who believes Bennett may be breaching a condition of his release is asked to contact police and should not place themselves at risk. In an emergency, call 9-1-1.
The London Police Service recognizes that coming forward in matters involving sexual violence can be difficult. Support is available to anyone who has experienced sexual violence. Information and links to local support services are available through the London Police Service website.
