MEDICAL CALL RESULTS IN CHARGES

Two in custody

LONDON, ON (August 19, 2026) — A man and a woman have been charged after members of the London Police Service Uniformed Division responded to a medical call in the east end of the city.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at approximately 12:40 p.m., officers responded to a hotel in the city’s east end in relation to checking the welfare of an occupant.

While inside the hotel room, officers observed a quantity of drugs and Canadian currency.

A man and a woman were arrested, and the following items were seized:

  • 101 grams of suspected fentanyl, value: $8,080
  • Approximately $2,000 in Canadian currency

The investigation was reassigned to members of the London Police Service Patrol Operations Investigative Section (POIS)

As a result of the investigation, Robert Degrace, 29, and Laurie Elizabeth Young, 37, both of London, have been jointly charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Both accused remain in custody. Robert Degrace is scheduled to appear in London court August 21, 2026, in relation to the charge. Laurie Elizabeth Young is scheduled to appear in London court August 24, 2026, in relation to the charge.
