INVESTIGATION INTO LARGE VEHICLE GATHERING IN SOUTH LONDON
Five vehicles impounded and 74 charges laid

LONDON, ON (August 14, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service Road Safety Section have concluded an investigation into a dangerous driving incident that occurred during a large vehicle gathering in south London earlier this year.

Shortly after 9 p.m., on May 9, 2026, members of the LPS Uniformed Division responded to reports of unsafe driving activity in a commercial parking lot in the 2800-block of Roxburgh Road. The information was relayed to members of the LPS Road Safety Section and investigators subsequently gathered and reviewed video surveillance footage related to the incident.

As a result of the investigation, five males from communities outside of London (Fort Erie, Strathroy, Milverton, Walkerton and West Lorne, Ontario) were identified and charged with a combined total of 74 Highway Traffic Act and vehicle-related offences. In addition, five vehicles were impounded and towed as part of the enforcement action.

The charges relate to stunt driving, unsafe vehicle operation, and various vehicle equipment offences.

“This investigation highlights the ongoing dedication and professionalism of our Road Safety Section members, who worked diligently over several months to identify those involved and hold them accountable,” said Superintendent Bill Berg of the London Police Service. “Dangerous driving behaviours place everyone at risk and have no place on our roadways or in our community.”

The London Police Service reminds all motorists that public roads and parking lots are not appropriate places for stunts, racing, or other dangerous driving activities. Drivers are responsible for ensuring they operate their vehicles safely, obey traffic laws, and consider the safety of everyone around them, including passengers, pedestrians, and other road users.

Members of the public are encouraged to report dangerous driving and suspicious vehicle activity when it is safe to do so. Even seemingly minor information can assist police in identifying offenders and enhancing road safety throughout the community.

The London Police Service remains committed to proactive road safety enforcement and will continue to investigate drivers whose behaviours put others at risk.
