Seeking public assistance

LONDON, ON (September 2, 2026) – The London Police Service (LPS) is releasing information to keep the public informed, and to identify any potential additional victims, as part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation involving a London man.

On July 26, 2026, Kyle Vanderheiden, 39, of London was arrested by members of the LPS Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) and charged with the following offences:

• Two counts of printing, publishing or possessing for the purpose of publishing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• Telecommunications agreement to commit specific criminal offences with another under or believed to be under 16 years
• Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• Obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years of age
• Luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication
• Making sexually explicit material available to a person under 18 years of age or believed to be under 18 years of age; and,
• Importing, selling or distributing child sexual abuse material.

On August 21, 2026, Vanderheiden was released from custody by the court after a contested bail hearing, and is subject to the following bail conditions:

• To reside with surety in London, Ontario and remain in or on the property of their residence at all times
• To not be in the company of or communicate, directly or indirectly, by any physical, electronic or other means with anyone under the age of 18 years
• To not be within 10 metres of any school, community centres, daycares, swimming pools, parks or anywhere children are known to be or frequent except for required court appearances; and,
• To not possess any weapons.

Vanderheiden is scheduled to re-appear in London court on October 1, 2026.

Investigators believe there may be people who have information relevant to the investigation or who believe they may have had contact with Vanderheiden in similar circumstances. Police are asking anyone with information, including potential additional victims, to contact investigators.

Police are also asking anyone who believes Vanderheiden may be breaching a condition of his release to contact police and avoid placing themselves at risk. In an emergency, call 9-1-1.

The LPS recognizes that coming forward in matters involving sexual violence can be difficult and support is available. Information and links to local support services are available on the LPS website.

Anyone with information related to this investigation, including anyone who believes they may have experienced similar conduct, is asked to contact the London Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit at 519-661-5670.
