LONDON, ON (October 23, 2026) – A man is facing multiple charges following an investigation by members of the London Police Service (LPS) Human Trafficking Unit.

In June 2026, police were contacted by a woman who reported being the victim of human trafficking, assaults, and exploitation dating back to 2019.

Through the investigation, police learned that the suspect had been involved in similar relationships with multiple women over several years. Investigators received information that one victim had been exploited in the sex trade, that the suspect had financially benefited from her activities, and that he had attempted to recruit additional women for the purpose of sexual exploitation. Multiple incidents of violence were also reported during the investigation.

The following items were seized as a result of the searches:

  • A quantity of Canadian currency;
  • Four cellular devices; and,
  • Multiple Percocet pills.

The suspect was located and arrested in Woodbridge.

As a result, Jesse Nigel Jones, 32, of Mississauga, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Three counts of assault;
  • Material benefit resulting from trafficking in persons;
  • Procuring;
  • Material benefit from sexual services
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Trafficking in person comprehensive; and,
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are releasing a photograph of the accused as part of the ongoing investigation. Anyone who may have had contact with him, or who has information relevant to this investigation, is encouraged to contact police.

The accused remains in custody and is expected to reappear in London court on October 26, 2026, in relation to the charges.

Recognizing the signs of human trafficking

Human trafficking can take many forms and often goes unrecognized. Indicators may include individuals who appear controlled by others, lack access to identification or money, show signs of fear or intimidation, or are unable to speak freely about their situation. Victims may be forced or coerced into providing sexual services or labour and may frequently move locations or be accompanied by someone who speaks on their behalf.

More information on the signs of human trafficking and available supports can be found on the London Police Service website: https://www.londonpolice.ca/en/newsroom/Human-Trafficking.aspx

Anyone with information related to human trafficking is urged to contact the London Police Service.
