CANADA ROAD SAFETY WEEK 2026
CANADA ROAD SAFETY WEEK 2026
LONDON, ON. (May 14, 2026) - Canada Road Safety Week runs from May 12 - 18, 2026. The seven-day national campaign aims to make Canada's roads the safest in the world by increasing public compliance with safe-driving measures to save lives and reduce injuries.
As the long weekend approaches, the London Police Service (LPS) reminds all drivers that road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Every time you buckle up, follow the rules of the road, and drive with a clear mind. Help protect yourself, your passengers, and everyone else travelling in our community.
Throughout the week and into the long weekend, the LPS Road Safety Section will continue to focus on aggressive driving, distracted driving, seatbelt enforcement, and impaired driving to help keep our roads safe. RIDE programs will also be in place as part of these enforcement efforts.
The LPS is proud to be participating in this year’s Canada Road Safety Campaign. While this public safety initiative is part of a national effort to help advance Canada’s Road Safety Strategy to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world, we are confident that our local efforts will help make the roads here in London among the safest in Canada.
“Canada Road Safety Week is an important reminder that the choices we make behind the wheel have a direct impact on the safety of everyone in our community,” said Staff Sergeant Mike Anderson of the London Police Service Road Safety Section. “As we head into the long weekend, we’re asking all drivers to slow down, stay focused, wear their seatbelts, and never drive impaired. Our officers will be out proactively enforcing traffic laws and conducting RIDE programs, but road safety starts with each and every driver making responsible decisions. Together, we can help ensure everyone arrives at their destination safely.”
