LONDON, ON (August 17, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service Patrol Operations Investigative Section have laid charges following an attempted break and enter involving a firearm over the weekend.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, shortly before 7 p.m., members of the London Police Service responded to a residence on Lovett Street after receiving reports of an attempted break-in involving an armed suspect.

Two individuals attended the residence and attempted to break into the home while two adult occupants were inside. During the incident, threats were made toward the occupants and a firearm was pointed at one of the victims. A window of the residence was also damaged during the incident.

The victims contacted 9-1-1 and remained inside the residence while officers responded.

Members of the Uniformed Division and Emergency Response Unit attended the area. Within minutes, officers located and arrested a male suspect on Chesley Avenue. During the arrest, officers recovered an imitation firearm and approximately 500 Nabilone pills.

A second suspect was located a short time later in the backyard of a residence on Dame Street and was arrested without incident.

The accused and victims were known to each other. There were no reported injuries.
