Youth In Policing Initiative (YIPI)
The Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) is a program that is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. The aim of the YIPI program is to promote youth participation and exposure to the work environment through educational, cultural and diverse work experiences. The program is designed to enhance the relationship between the police and the neighbourhoods we serve.
As a member of the YIPI Team, participants work alongside members of the Community Mobilization and Support Branch, gain exposure to different sections of the London Police Service, and participate in various community initiatives. Youths are exposed to a variety of educational experiences with local religious, cultural and ethnic groups, receive diversity training and participate in a variety of personal development opportunities.
Current and former YIPI team members are eligible to apply for a scholarship of up to $4000 towards an accredited College or University program.
This year’s program will run from July 2- August 22, 2025.
