London man identified and arrested

UPDATE # 2- LONDON, ON (August 29, 2025) – Members of the London Police Service Major Crime Section have identified, arrested and charged a London man in relation to a weapons investigation from earlier this month.

Shortly before 5 p.m., on Thursday, August 29, 2025, members of the LPS Emergency Response Unit along with members of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Unit (ROPE) and Uniformed Division located and arrested a wanted man responsible for the shooting investigation from Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in the city’s downtown core.

As a result of the investigation, Kevin Bradley Harp, 41, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Discharge firearm with intent to wound/endanger life or prevent arrest;
  • Possess a restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a license and registration certificate; and,
  • Five (5) counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in London court today in relation to the charges.

UPDATE – LONDON, ON (August 14, 2025) – The investigation into a shooting that took place in the Old East Village Tuesday evening continues.

Video surveillance revealed that a lone male suspect pointed a firearm at an unknown victim in the 700-block of Dundas Street. A firearm was discharged and both the suspect and male victim fled from the area.

Investigators believe the suspect left the scene in a white SUV, proceeding westbound on York Street.

The suspect is described as male, White, wearing a black baseball cap, grey t-shirt, black shorts and black and white Nike shoes.

Investigators continue to ask anyone who was in the area between the hours of 9:45 – 10:15 p.m., who may have information in relation to the investigation, or who may have dashcam footage or video surveillance of the area around that time to contact police.

ORIGINAL – LONDON, ON (August 13, 2025) – Members of the London Police Service are investigating after responding to a reported gunshot late last night in the Old East Village.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m., officers attended the intersection of Dundas and English streets after receiving a call about a loud noise, believed to be the sound of a gunshot. 

Evidence that a gun had been fired was located in the area.

The investigation is in its early stages and is being led by members of the LPS Major Crime Section with assistance from the Patrol Operations Investigative Section.

There were no reported injuries or damage to property. No weapons were recovered.

Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area between the hours of 9:45 – 10:15 p.m., who may have information in relation to the investigation, or who may have dashcam footage or video surveillance of the area around that time, to contact police.
