Knife seized, London man charged

LONDON, ON (July 7, 2022) – A London man is facing charges in relation to a weapons investigation in the east end of the city on Tuesday.

At approximately 9:35 a.m., on July 5, 2022, a man was inside a restaurant in the 300-block of Clarke Road, when he approached an employee and produced a knife. The suspect made threats towards a female victim and proceeded to exit the restaurant. Police were contacted.

At approximately 9:40 a.m., officers located and arrested a suspect.

A search yielded a knife.

There were no reported injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Michael Rice, 25, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault with a weapon;
  • Possession of a weapon; and
  • Uttering threats/death or bodily harm.

The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on July 28, 2022, in relation to the charges.
