SUSPICIOUS FIRE INVESTIGATION
Seeking the public’s assistance

LONDON, ON (July 8, 2025) – Members of the London Police Service Street Crime Unit are investigating a suspicious fire that took place in the east end of the city overnight.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 2 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a fire on the east side of Highbury Avenue, just north of Hamilton Road.

An active fire was located at an unoccupied building located in the 100-block of Highbury Avenue.

Police evacuated nearby homes and businesses while members of the London Fire Department extinguished the fire and Enbridge Gas attended the area.

There were no reported injuries.

The fire was deemed to be suspicious in nature, and the investigation was reassigned to members of the LPS Street Crime Unit.

The damages are estimated at approximately $3,500. 

Investigators are appealing to members of the public who may information, dash-cam footage, or residential/business video surveillance between the hours of 1:45 – 2:15 a.m., to contact police. 

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
