Man found to have a serious injury 
Special Investigations Unit investigating

LONDON, ON (October 29, 2023) – The Special Investigations Unit has invoked their mandate.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., on October 29, 2023, police were sent to a downtown establishment in relation to a trespasser in the 500-block of Richmond Street.  The man was asked to leave the premises and complied.

A short time later, the suspect male returned to the establishment and brandished a knife. Police returned and the suspect was combative with police during the arrest.

Once arrested, it was determined the man had a serious, non-life threatening injury and was transported to hospital.

The officers were not injured during the incident.

A 22-year-old London man has been charged with the following offences:

  • Two (2) counts of assault with a weapon;
  • Weapons dangerous;
  • Resist arrest; and
  • Uttering threats.
