SHOOTING INVESTIGATION
Two arrested, police continue to search for additional suspects

LONDON, ON (April 22, 2026) – The London Police Service is investigating a shooting that took place Monday night in the downtown core.

On April 20, 2026, at approximately 6:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 500-block of Dundas Street.

Investigators learned that a man was inside a residential unit with a woman when three male suspects entered the unit. One of the suspects produced a handgun and shot the male victim before all three fled the area.

Police located the victim with a gunshot wound, and he was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

One suspect was identified and arrested at approximately 9:20 p.m.  A female was arrested with him, and a handgun was recovered during a search incident to arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Shane Joseph Donald Ardiel, 25, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Discharge a firearm in a reckless manner;
  • Possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence;
  • Occupy motor vehicle with firearm;
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition; and
  • Aggravated assault.

Deona Doxtator, 23, also of London, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence;
  • Occupy motor vehicle with firearm; and
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.

The accused remain in custody and are scheduled to re-appear in London court on April 23, 2026, in relation to the charges.

Police continue to search for two additional suspects.

Investigators believe this was not a random incident.

Incidents such as this represent a serious threat to the safety of the individuals directly involved as well as bystanders and threaten the wider community’s sense of safety. The London Police Service deploys resources to prevent victimization and disrupt organized criminal activity. When violent incidents occur, skilled officers and civilian police professionals throughout the organization work diligently to investigate them and to hold those responsible accountable.

This investigation has been reassigned to the London Police Service Major Crime Section. Investigators are appealing to anyone with information or with dash-cam, residential or business surveillance video from the area around the time of the incident, to contact the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670.
