SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

UPDATE - LONDON, ON (August 10, 2025) - A London man is facing charged after a woman was sexually on August 7th, 2025 in the downtown area.
As a result of the investigation, Rodrigo Ramos Rubilar, 51, of London, has been charged with the following offence:
- Sexual Assault
The accused remains in custody and is expected to appear in London court on Tuesday in relation to the charges.
UPDATE - LONDON, ON (August 9, 2025) - Members of the London Police Service have obtained updated photographs of the suspect.
Investigators continue to ask anyone who may have been in the downtown core between 2:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., who can identify the suspect, may have information in relation to this investigation, dash-cam footage, residential or business video surveillance that could assist with the investigation to call the London Police Service.

ORIGINAL - LONDON, ON (August 7, 2025) – Members of the London Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance after responding to a sexual assault in the downtown core this afternoon.
At approximately 3:10 p.m., a woman walking in the area of and King and Talbot streets was approached by a man unknown to her after having some personal belongings stolen from her.
The man asked the woman if she was okay and the woman told him she was trying to find her stolen belongings.
The man stated he would help her look for her belongings.
Shortly before 3:30 p.m., while in the area of Thames and Bathurst streets the man pushed the woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
The victim ran from the suspect and called 9-1-1.
Numerous officers including the LPS Canine Unit responded and attempted to locate the suspect male.
The suspect was not located.
The investigation has been reassigned to members of the LPS Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section who are actively investigating the incident.
A photo of the suspect has been attached, and investigators continue to seek higher quality photos of the suspect in hopes the public can assist with the identification of the man.
The suspect is described as male, Hispanic, slim build, approximately 5’6” and wearing a light-coloured button up polo shirt, darker blue jeans with a green hat and dark coloured shoes. He was carrying a black backpack at the time of the incident.
Investigators are asking anyone that may have been in the downtown core between 2:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., that can identify the suspect, that may have information in relation to this investigation, have dash-cam footage, or residential or business video surveillance that could assist with the investigation to call the London Police Service.
