STOLEN VEHICLE AND PLATES RECOVERED
Two Londoners facing charges

LONDON, ON (May 29, 2025) – Two people were arrested earlier this week after officers observed a stolen car in the south end of the city.

On May 26, 2025, a red two-door Ford Mustang was reported stolen from a dealership in Windsor.

On May 27, 2025, a woman reported her licence plate stolen from a vehicle on Scenic Drive in London. That same day, a motorcycle was reported stolen from an address in Woodstock.

On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, shortly after midnight, a London police officer was in the area of Wharncliffe Road South and Commissioners Road when he observed a red Ford Mustang with reported stolen licence plates affixed to it. When additional officers attended the area to assist, the suspect vehicle drove over the elevated media in the intersection of Wellington Road and Commissioners Road East and fled from police. A short time later, police located the suspect vehicle in the downtown core. The driver of the vehicle fled from officers again but was located a short time later in the east end of the city.

Police observed the suspect male exit the car and began to struggle with the driver of Dodge Caravan. Believing that the suspect was attempted to steal the van, officers placed their marked vehicles in a manner that would stop the two vehicles from leaving. A passenger in the stolen Mustang accelerated the car causing damage to a London police cruiser.

Both the suspect male and female passenger of the stolen car were arrested.

There were no reported injuries.

Searches yielded the following items:

  • 2.8 grams of suspected Methamphetamine;
  • Butterfly knife;
  • One gram of suspected Cocaine;
  • Reported stolen motorcycle.

As a result of the investigation, Joseph Earl Furman, 33, and Jennifer Lynn Casey, 39, both of London, have been jointly charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

Joseph Furman has been additionally charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device;
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance;
  • Fail to comply with release order;
  • Operation while prohibited;
  • Fail to stop for police/pursuit;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000; and
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance.

Jennifer Casey has been additionally charged with one count of possession of a Schedule I substance.

Joseph Furman remains in custody with an upcoming court date of June 2, 2025, while Jennifer Casey was released from custody and has an upcoming court date of July 11, 2025.
