STOLEN LANDSCAPING TRUCK LEADS TO CHARGES
Prohibited driver charged with impaired operation
LONDON, ON (April 18, 2024) – A Lucan man is facing a number of charges after police recovered a stolen truck.
On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at approximately 2 p.m., a citizen reported a landscaping truck stolen from the area of Arbour Glen Crescent and Kipps Lane.
A short time after the vehicle was reported stolen to police, officers observed it in the south-east end of the city. At approximately 2:30 p.m., a suspect male parked the stolen vehicle on Consortium Court and fled from it on foot. Police officers fled on foot after the suspect male and arrested him in the 1000-block of Adelaide Street South.
A search incident to arrest yielded a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine.
Police determined that the accused had attempted to set the stolen vehicle on fire prior to fleeing on foot.
As a result of the investigation, Branden Neeb, 26, of Lucan, has been charged with the following offences:
- Theft of a motor vehicle;
- Impaired operation of a conveyance;
- Operation while prohibited;
- Possession of a Schedule I substance;
- Arson causing damage to property; and
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance.
The accused is expected to re-appear in London court tomorrow, April 19, 2024, in relation to the charges.
