UPDATE – LONDON, ON (July 21, 2022) – The deceased individual is confirmed to be an adult female, and the death does not appear to be suspicious in nature.

No further identifying information is being released at this time pending notification of next of kin of the deceased.

Members of the Major Crime Section are in the early stages of the investigation and are assisting the Chief Coroner.

ORIGINAL – LONDON, ON (July 20, 2022) – At approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to the 300-block of Thames Street after receiving a 9-1-1 call in relation to a citizen locating what appeared to be a body in the river.

Upon police arrival, an individual was located in the river, and that individual was found to be deceased.

The investigation is in its early stages and has been reassigned to members of the LPS Major Crime Section.

We are asking members of the public to avoid the area while police remain on scene.
