Mother located - Investigation ongoing
UPDATE – LONDON, ON (April 11, 2025) – The mother of the newborn baby has been identified and located. There is no longer a concern for her well-being.
“We would like to thank the public for their compassion and engagement in this situation. Thankfully, everyone is safe. As the investigation progresses, we will be limited in what information can be provided to respect the privacy of everyone involved” said Detective Inspector Sean Travis, of the London Police Service Investigative Services Branch.
Members of the London Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section continue to investigate, and additional information will be shared as appropriate.

ORIGINAL - LONDON, ON (April 10, 2025) – Members of the London Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the mother of a newborn baby located outside of a residence north of the downtown core.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m., yesterday afternoon, a citizen called police after locating a newborn baby left on the porch of a residence in the area of Sterling Street and Oxford Street East.
The baby was transported to hospital by paramedic services, where it remains in good condition.
Officers are concerned for the welfare of the baby’s mother and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating her.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area of Sterling Street and Oxford Street East yesterday between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with dash-cam, residential and/or business video surveillance, or that may have information in relation to the investigation to contact the London Police Service.
The investigation remains ongoing, and more information will be provided as appropriate.
