NEW COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP
Enhancing community engagement through visibility

LONDON, ON (October 17, 2025) – The London Police Service (LPS) is excited to announce a new partnership with the London Transit Commission (LTC) aimed at boosting community engagement and visibility. As part of this initiative, Foot Patrol officers will be periodically riding city buses or walking through them during their regular shifts in the Downtown, Midtown and Old East Village.

This collaboration is designed to foster positive connections with riders, bolster community confidence, and contribute to crime prevention through increased visibility and engagement.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to being visible, approachable, and connected to the community we serve,” said Chief Thai Truong. “By meeting people where they are, in everyday spaces like our transit system, we can build trust, strengthen relationships, and reinforce that community safety is a shared responsibility.”

By enhancing police presence, we aim to encourage the public to feel more comfortable approaching officers in community spaces, thereby strengthening public trust in community safety without raising unnecessary concerns. By showcasing the human side of policing, our officers will regularly engage with the public whenever possible, working alongside our LTC partners to promote a safe and welcoming transit experience for everyone.

“London Transit is proud to partner with the London Police Service to promote safety across our city, including on public transit,” says LTC General Manager Kelly Paleczny. “At LTC, the safety of our riders and employees is our top priority and this collaborative initiative will further strengthen our ongoing Travel Safe program.”
