MISCHIEF INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ADDITIONAL CHARGES
Suspect charged with resist arrest and assault police
LONDON, ON (November 29, 2024) – A London man was arrested in relation to a mischief investigation yesterday morning.
On Thursday, November 28, 2024, at approximately 8:30 a.m., police responded to a business in the 1100-block of Brydges Street in relation to a report of a man refusing to leave the property after being directed to do so.
Upon police arrival, officers were advised that the suspect was refusing to allow company vehicles to enter or depart the property by standing directly in the laneway of the business.
Officers spoke with the suspect male for a lengthy period of time, however, he refused to move from his location.
When police attempted to place the male under arrest, he actively resisted the officers, and a struggle ensued.
The suspect was arrested by police.
One police officer sustained minor injuries. The suspect did not sustain any physical injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Iqbal Grewal, 34, of London, has been charged with the following offences:
- Two (2) counts of assault a peace officer;
- Resist arrest; and
- Mischief under $5000.
The accused is expected to appear in London court on January 15, 2025, in relation to the charges.
