LONDON, ON (April 17, 2023) – The London Police Services Board (LPSB) has been working on one of its priorities, to address the areas of anti-racism and mental health and addictions as they impact our community and specifically, policing of our community. In 2021, the LPSB Anti-Racism Advisory Panel (ARAP) and LPSB Mental Health and Addictions Advisory Panel (MHAAP) were formed with community experts, community members with lived and living experience in the respective areas, and members of the LPSB and LPS who have interest and experience in the areas of anti-racism, mental health and addictions.
With the terms of three MHAAP members having just concluded, the Panel is seeking citizen interest in joining the group. In selecting members, MHAAP will strive for diversity of voices and representation from:
- Organizations run by and for people with lived and living experience of mental health and/or addiction;
- Individuals with lived and living experience of mental health and/or addiction; and
- Individuals with expertise in the areas of law/human rights, and data analytics.
