London Police Services Board announces appointment of Interim Deputy Chief

LONDON, ON (December 23, 2022) – Susan Toth, Chair of the London Police Services Board, announces the appointment of Interim Deputy Chief Paul Reynolds, effective January 1, 2023.

“The London Police Services Board would like to thank Interim Deputy Chief Reynolds for agreeing to assume this role until such time as we are able to complete the hiring process for a permanent Deputy Chief,” says Toth. “We have full confidence that his wealth of experience from a long career spent at London Police Service will serve him and the organization very well.”

Interim Deputy Chief Reynolds is in his 34th year with the London Police Service, having worked in most areas of the organization. In addition to serving for more than 14 years as a Constable, he has served in leadership roles in the Uniformed Division, Corporate Services, Administrative Support, Professional Standards, Human Resources, and his most recent role as Detective Superintendent of the Criminal Investigation Division.

Outside of work, Paul has spent many years coaching both male and female youth hockey teams and was a long-time member of the London Junior Knights Board of Directors. He and his wife, Tanya, have two adult sons.

“While my family and I made a personal decision that I wouldn’t put my name forward for the permanent Deputy Chief position, I am very honoured to have been asked by the Board to fill this role on an interim basis until the search for a new Deputy Chief is complete,” says Reynolds. “The London Police Service has offered me many opportunities for growth and challenge throughout the years, and I am grateful that the Board has placed their trust in me to ensure our operations continue to move forward during this time of transition.”
