LONDON POLICE ISSUES WARNING SURROUNDING "SENIOR ASSASSIN" GAME

LONDON POLICE SERVICE WARNS OF DANGERS ASSOCIATED TO “SENIOR ASSASSINS” GAME FOLLOWING INCIDENTS IN LONDON

LONDON, ON (April 28, 2025) – The London Police Service is warning parents and students about the dangers of the “Senior Assassin’s” game following several reports of youth carrying what appear to be firearms over that last week throughout the city.

The game involves high school students seeking out one another with water or Nerf-style guns and typically takes place in public settings during the day and evening hours. In all of the 9-1-1 calls to police, observers have been unaware of the game being played and feared the person seen is carrying a real firearm.

“Some of the toy guns we have located on the youth playing the game have been very realistic and resembled real firearms”, said Inspector Pete Testa, head of the LPS Community Mobilization and Support Branch. “Our officers respond to firearm related calls that involve the use of both real and imitation firearms, as such they treat every call as though the gun is real. Calls involving any type of firearm elevate our officer’s response as it creates a great concern for not only public safety, but our officer’s safety as well. At the end of the day, we want to ensure that no one gets hurt”.

Along with the fear and elevated emergency response the game causes, there is potential for youths playing the game to face a number of consequences, up to and including criminal charges.

To ensure the safety of the members of the public and our community and eliminate the risk of an unnecessary and serious encounter with officers, London Police Service is discouraging youth from participating in this game.

“We encourage parents and guardians to speak with their children to educate them about the potential risks and consequences of having an imitation firearm in their possession”, continued Inspector Testa.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
