LONDON POLICE SERVICE LAUNCHES CRIME PREVENTION WEEK
“Awareness in Action: Keeping Ontario Safe Together”

LONDON, ON (November 3, 2024) – The London Police Service kicks off Ontario’s annual Crime Prevention Week today, November 3, 2024, and runs until Saturday, November 09, 2024. The week-long promotion of crime prevention is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), the Ministry of the Solicitor General, and police services across Ontario.

“Being aware of crime and how to prevent being a victim of criminal activity is something everyone can do.” said Inspector Pete Testa of the London Police Service Community Mobilization and Support Branch. “No one chooses to be a victim of crime, but when crime happens, it can have a profound effect on individuals, their families, and communities at large.”

Community safety and well-being is a shared responsibility in Ontario. Everyone who lives, works or goes to school in Ontario deserves to feel safe.

Please join LPS officers and auxiliary members at the following locations throughout the week to learn more about crime prevention and safety:

• Monday, November4, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Cherryhill Village Mall, 301 Oxford Street West
• Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at White Oaks Mall, 1105 Wellington Road
• Thursday, November 7, 2024, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Masonville Mall, 1680 Richmond Street
• Friday, November 9, 20204, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Argyle Mall, 1925 Dundas Street

In addition to the drop-in visits listed above, we also have a Fraud Awareness Information Session planned. You can hear talks from the London Police Service’s Financial Crimes Unit, as they share information about common scams and fraud. There will be opportunities to chat with them and ask any questions you may have.
