Rodney man arrested

LONDON, ON (June 9, 2025) – A Rodney man has been charged after members of the London Police Service responded to a hit and run collision in the east end of the city.

On Saturday, June 7, 2025, a citizen called 9-1-1 after a vehicle collided with a tree and front porch of a residence in the area of Stedwell Street and Chesley Avenue.

The vehicle fled from the area before police arrived.

Police located the vehicle a short distance away which stopped abruptly as a result of the extensive damage sustained from the previous collision.

The male driver was arrested. No injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, Aaron Coglin Welch, 43, of Rodney has been charged with the following offences:

  • Impaired operation of a conveyance;
  • Impaired exceed blood alcohol concentration;
  • Fail to stop at scene of an accident;
  • Fail to stop for police; and,
  • Dangerous operation.

The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on July 24, 2025, in relation to the charges.
