UPDATE #1 (May 8, 2023) – Police have concluded their investigation into this incident.
Due to the nature of the report, a large police presence was deployed for several hours to conduct a thorough search of the area and investigate further. The search and initial investigation are complete, and no evidence was discovered to indicate any incident occurred as initially described.
Police will continue to investigate any further information, should it be brought forward.
At this time, the matter is concluded and there is not believed to be any concern for public safety.

LONDON, ON (May 8, 2023) – Members of the London Police Service are investigating after responding to the 700-block of Southdale Road East in relation to checking the welfare of an unknown female.
On Monday, May 8, 2023, at approximately 11:40 a.m., officers responded to a call after a citizen allegedly observed a female being dragged into the Westminster Ponds area by two unknown males.
The female was described as White, approximately 20 years of age, medium build, with long brown hair. She was said to be wearing a black sports bra, tight blue jeans and flat shoes (possibly sandals).
The two suspect males were described as White, in their 20s.
Officers responded to the area and commenced a search. Due to the size and terrain of the area, the search is in its early stages and is anticipated to continue for some time.
Investigators remain on scene and are appealing to members of the public for assistance in this matter.
