ATTEMPTED ROBBERY

LONDON, ON (January 8, 2025) – Members of the London Police Service Street Crime Unit are investigating an attempted robbery that took place yesterday afternoon in the south-west end of the city.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, four males exited a white SUV in the 400-block of Wharncliffe Road South. The suspect males were wearing dark clothing and masks and attempted to force their way into a jewelry store by damaging the exterior window of the business.
The suspects were not able to gain entry and fled from the business in the white SUV.
Police were contacted and attended the area.
Approximately an hour after the reported incident, LPS officers were made aware that an SUV, fitting the description of the suspect vehicle, was observed operating in a dangerous manner near Tillsonburg, Ontario. The vehicle fled from police in that jurisdiction.
There were no reported injuries.
The business sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.
Investigators are appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time of the attempted robbery, or who may have dash-cam footage or video surveillance that can assist with the investigation, to contact us.
The investigation is in its early stages and more information will be provided as appropriate.
