ARSON INVESTIGATION
Seeking the public’s assistance

LONDON, ON (April 2, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service Patrol Operations Investigative Section (POIS) are appealing to members of the public in relation to an arson that took place at a business in the east end of the city late last month.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, a uniformed division officer came across an active fire on the southwest corner of a business located in the 300-block of Clarke Road.

The fire was in close proximity to the building, and the officer extinguished the flames using a fire extinguisher from their police cruiser.

There were no reported injuries.

The London Fire Department attended and confirmed there were no additional safety concerns.

Video surveillance footage was obtained and officers learned that an unknown male suspect arrived at the location at approximately 8:30 p.m. The suspect was observed carrying a blue recycling bin filled with cardboard, which he placed outside the door before igniting the contents and leaving the area.

The suspect is described as wearing a light camouflage jacket over a black hooded sweater, with the words “ZOO YORK” visible on the hood.

Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, or who may have dash-cam footage, CCTV, or residential or business video that can assist with this investigation, to contact police.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers
