18-YEAR-OLD STRUCK BY PROJECTILE

UPDATE – LONDON, ON (September 7, 2023) – Police are continuing their investigation into the reported shooting that took place on Broughdale Avenue on September 6, 2023. Investigators are again asking anyone who was in the area with surveillance cameras, cellphone video, doorbell cameras and dashcam footage that may have captured the incident between 11:00 p.m. on September 5, 2023, and 12:10 a.m. on September 6, 2023, to contact London Police Service.

Investigators believe there are individuals who have information related to the identities of those responsible and are urging them to come forward and provide that information to the London Police Service.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers.

LONDON, ON (September 6, 2023) – Members of the London Police Service Major Crime Section are investigating after a female was struck by a projectile from a firearm overnight. 

Around midnight, on September 6, 2023, a group of friends were walking along the north sidewalk of Broughdale Avenue when a vehicle drove by them. An individual inside the vehicle pointed what appeared to be a handgun, out the back window of the car. 

A woman was struck by a projectile and police were contacted. 

The victim, an 18-year-old female, was transported to hospital by paramedic services with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. 

It is believed that the female was struck by a projectile from a BB gun. 

Investigators are asking anyone who has video surveillance, including dashcam footage, cellphone video or doorbell cameras on Broughdale Avenue, Audrey Avenue or Richmond Street, to contact the London Police Service. 

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark (possibly black) four-door sedan. 

The investigation is in its early stages, and more information will be provided as appropriate.
