The London Police Service offers competitive wages, benefits, and paid vacation. For some Civilian positions, LPS offers hybrid and compressed working arrangements (depending on position).

Civilian salaries vary by position and are determined by a Collective Agreement. These salaries are non-negotiable, and broken into 5 steps/levels:

Cadets are hired on a contract for up to two years to gain valuable experience while supporting operations at London Police Headquarters and the London Courthouse. Although becoming a police officer is not guarantee of this program, the Cadet Program is an excellent steppingstone for those interested in a career in policing.

Pension (OMERS):

  • Permanent members will be automatically enrolled in the pension plan through OMERS.
  • Temporary members can voluntarily enroll in the pension plan through OMERS, upon date of hire, however, this is not mandatory. Any and all options related to participation in the pension plan will be communicated to you directly through OMERS.
