STOLEN VEHICLE INTENTIONALLY STRIKES POLICE CRUISER
London man arrested

LONDON, ON (October 20, 2025) – A London man was arrested over the weekend after two houses were broken into, and a vehicle was stolen.

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, at approximately 7 a.m., a man entered an unlocked door of a residence in the 700-block of Elizabeth Street. The suspect male proceeded to take a number of items and identification documents belonging to people in that residence prior to leaving the home.

The suspect returned to the area approximately one hour later, cutting the screen of an adjacent residence and entering the home. The suspect took cash, property and keys for a vehicle. A resident of the home observed the suspect enter their vehicle in the driveway, and police were notified.

The suspect fled northbound from the home, and police located it a short time later in the 700-block of Kipps Lane. The suspect drove the vehicle towards the marked police cruisers, intentionally striking one of them.

The cruiser sustained approximately $2000 worth of damages.

There were no reported injuries.

The suspect was arrested by officers.

During a search incident to arrest, stolen property and identification documents, as well as a prohibited knife were located.

As a result of the investigation, Mohamed Elmutigin, 28, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Two counts of break enter & theft.
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition;
  • Theft of a motor vehicle;
  • Operation while prohibited;
  • Fail to comply with release order; and
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in London court today in relation to the charges.
