LONDON POLICE SERVICE INVESTIGATING SIX SHOOTINGS SINCE FRIDAY
Two people in custody, investigations ongoing
LONDON, ON (December 8, 2025) – Police are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to six shootings in the city over the span of 72 hours.
Shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, police were called by a homeowner who reported hearing what they believed to be the sound of a single gunshot in the area of Gatewood Road and Huron Street.
Officers located evidence confirming a single gunshot had struck the front door to the residence.
At approximately 3:40 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, police were called by a citizen who reported hearing what they believed to be gunshots in the area of Rhine Avenue ad Founders Row.
Officers located evidence that a firearm had been discharged, and a residence had been struck by multiple shots.
On Saturday, December 6, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to the residence located at Gatewood Road and Huron Street a second time after the occupants reported hearing what they believed to be gunshots.
Officers located evidence that a firearm had been discharged at the residence a second time.
Police observed surveillance video and determined a black Jeep Cherokee was possibly involved.
At approximately 11 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, police received reports of the sound of gunshots in the area of Primrose Court and Cleveland Avenue. When officers arrived, they located damage to the residence and found evidence of two gunshots being fired.
A short time later, just before midnight, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, police responded to reports of the sound of gunshots at a residence in the area of Banbury Road and Goodman Drive.
Officers found the residence had been struck by a single bullet.
Police observed video surveillance and learned the lone suspect who was wearing black pants, a black jacket, a red hoodie, and a black face covering fled in a dark coloured SUV after firing the single shot.
This morning, Monday, December 8, 2025, shortly after 2 a.m., police received reports of gunshots from the residents of a house in the area of Kipps Lane and Arbour Glenn.
Evidence of a firearm being discharged was located at the residence.
None of the incidents resulted in anyone being struck, and there have been no injuries reported to police.
Officers responding to the shooting observed a black Jeep Cherokee travelling at a high rate of speed in the area of Egerton Street and Hamilton Road matching the description of a suspect vehicle from one of the previous shootings.
Police attempted to stop the suspect vehicle and pursued it when it failed to stop.
The vehicle stopped in the area of Wellington Road and Commissioners Road East where the occupants fled from police on foot.
With assistance from the LPS Canine Unit, a man and woman were located and arrested a short distance away.
Officers learned the vehicle had been previously reported as stolen to police.
A .22 caliber firearm was recovered.
As the result of this investigation, Jagger Perse, 18, and Shanaya Ireland, 18, both of London have been charged with the following offences:
Jagger Perse:
· Possess loaded/unloaded regulated firearm;
· Occupy motor vehicle with firearm/etc.;
· Possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a certificate;
· Fail to stop for police/pursuit;
· Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
· Discharge firearm with intent to wound/endanger life or prevent arrest;
· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
· Fail to comply with sentence;
· Fail to comply with release order; and,
· Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.
Shanaya Ireland:
· Possess loaded/unloaded regulated firearm;
· Occupy motor vehicle with firearm/etc.;
· Possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a certificate;
· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000; and,
· Disobeying order of the court.
Both accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in London court today.
Enhanced proactive enforcement was prioritized in the areas to help ensure the safety of the community.
Investigators believe the shootings are related and that all of the residences were deliberately targeted.
The investigations are being led by the LPS Major Crime Section. Investigators are actively pursuing all available leads, dedicating significant investigative resources, and working closely with our policing partners to identify and arrest those responsible.
Investigators are appealing to anyone with information in relation to any of these incidents or who may have dash-cam, residential or business surveillance video that could assist with the investigation, to contact the London Police Service.
Community safety is a shared responsibility. We encourage residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity promptly.
To those responsible for discharging firearms in our community: your actions put innocent people at risk and will not be tolerated. We will aggressively continue to identify, arrest, and hold accountable, all individuals involved in this type of violence.
