HUMAN TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION
Investigators believe there are additional victims
LONDON, ON (September 26, 2025) – A London man is in custody, charged with human trafficking-related offences following an investigation by the London Police Service Human Trafficking Unit.
The investigation began in September 2025 when a woman contacted police to report that shortly after becoming involved in an intimate relationship with him, the suspect suggested she engage in sex work and began advertising her services online for money. Between September and December 2024, the male sent the victim to various cities to provide sexual services to individuals.
Throughout the relationship, the victim was assaulted by the male a number of times.

As a result of the investigation, Shakire Ramone Mendoza, 26, of London, has been charged with the following offences:
- Trafficking in person;
- Financial/material benefit/trafficking person over 18;
- Material benefit from sexual services;
- Four counts of assault;
- Sexual assault; and
- Assault by suffocation.
Investigators believe the accused may have victimized other women and, as such, are releasing a photograph of the accused. Shakire is described as male, Black, approximately 150 lbs, 6’0”, with black hair, brown eyes and black scruffy facial hair.
Investigators are appealing to members of the public to contact them if they have any information in relation to this investigation, or if they have had similar dealings with the accused.
The accused remains in custody and is expected to re-appear in London court on September 29, 2025, in relation to the charges.
