OVERNIGHT HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION
One male deceased; another remains in hospital

UPDATE #2 - LONDON, ON (January 30, 2026) – The London Police Service Major Crime Section continues to investigate the homicide from last weekend.

The deceased victim has been identified as 26-year-old, Ramone Thomas, of Toronto.

The arrested suspect is Matthew Yousufy, 26, of London, and has been charged with the following offences:

·       Second degree murder;

·       Aggravated assault;

·       Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;

·       Fail to stop for police/pursuit;

·       Possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a license and registration certificate;

·       Possess loaded/unloaded regulated firearm;

·       Three (3) counts of possession of a firearm of ammunition contrary to prohibition order;

·       Three (3) counts of fail to comply with release order; and,

·       Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to re appear in London court on February 5, 2026, in relation to the charges.

UPDATE - LONDON, ON (January 29, 2026) – The London Police Service Major Crime Section has identified and arrested a male suspect in this incident.

Investigators are particularly interested in dash‑cam, residential, or business surveillance footage captured between 3:30 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. on January 25, 2026, in the area of Dundas Street near Hewitt Street.

LONDON, ON (January 25, 2026) – The London Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance after officers responded to a shooting in the 700‑block of Dundas Street overnight.

Shortly before 4 a.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, a citizen called 9‑1‑1 after hearing multiple gunshots. Officers located two adult male victims. One was transported to hospital and has since died; the second remains in hospital with serious but non‑life‑threatening injuries.

The investigation has been reassigned to the Major Crime Section. No arrests have been made at this time. Additional information will be provided as appropriate.

The London Police Service emphasizes proactive crime‑prevention strategies, collaborative partnerships, and the prompt investigation of violent incidents. We urge all residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
