HIT AND RUN INVESTIGATION
London man facing charges
LONDON, ON (October 17, 2025) – A London man has been arrested as a result of a hit and run that took place late last month.
At approximately 4:20 p.m., on Saturday, September 27, 2025, a man was operating a motorcycle westbound on Riverside Drive when he was struck by a black Ford F150 pickup truck travelling eastbound. The truck was observed crossing over the center line prior to hitting the motorcycle.
The driver of the pickup truck did not stop after being involved in the collision and was observed fleeing from the area.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital by paramedic services with critical injuries. He remains in hospital with serious injuries.
A description of the suspect vehicle was provided to police and was located nearby; however, the driver was not located at that time. The vehicle was seized.
The investigation was reassigned to the London Police Service Road Safety Section, and the driver of the suspect vehicle was identified.
The suspect turned himself in to London police Headquarters on October 11, 2025.
As a result of the investigation, Chad William Thomas Hallett, 40, of London, has been charged with the following offences:
· Dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm; and
· Fail to stop at scene of accident / bodily harm.
The accused is expected to appear in London court on November 25, 2025, in relation to the charges.
