COLLISION INVESTIGATION LEADS TO NUMEROUS CHARGES
London woman in custody
LONDON, ON (March 23, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service (LPS) have charged a London woman after responding to a serious motor vehicle collision in the south end of the city yesterday.
Shortly after 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, police received several 9-1-1 calls in relation to a serious motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road between Commissioners Road East and Southdale Road East.
Responding officers learned a black Chevrolet Tahoe travelling at a high rate of speed hit two vehicles and a telephone pole before coming to a stop after hitting a business sign at the intersection of Wellington Road and Southdale Road East.
Members of the London Fire Department assisted with removing the suspect female driver and adult female passenger from the Chevrolet Tahoe.
Paramedic services transported the suspect driver with minor injuries and the female passenger with life-threatening injuries to hospital.
While being transported to hospital the female driver assaulted paramedics, police and damaged a police radio. Once at the hospital, she additionally assaulted a nurse.
Occupants of the vehicles hit by the suspect vehicle were assessed by paramedic services and received medical attention for minor injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing by both the LPS Road Safety Section and Patrol Operations Investigative Section.
As a result of the investigation, Aaliyah Mackenzie Elijah, 23, of London, has been charged with the following offences:
· Dangerous operation/bodily harm;
· Dangerous operation;
· Impaired;
· Impaired bodily harm;
· Mischief under $5000;
· Fail to stop at scene of accident;
· Fail to comply with a release order;
· Assault a peace officer; and,
· Three (3) counts of assault.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to reappear in London court tomorrow in relation to the charges.
