BREAK AND ENTER INVESTIGATIONS LEAD TO FIREARM CHARGES
Six youths arrested

LONDON, ON (March 24, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service (LPS) Patrol Operations Investigative Section have charged six youths after several early morning break and enters in the south-west end of the city earlier this week.

On Sunday, March 22, 2026, between the hours of 12 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., members of the LPS Uniformed Division responded to several calls in relation to suspects kicking in and damaging front doors and causing property damage to residences in the south-west end of the city.

Shortly before 1:15 a.m. a homeowner of one of the residences woke to the sound of his door being damaged and observed several suspects getting into a white vehicle.

The homeowner followed the vehicle as it left the area and when he approached the suspects a short distance later, they brandished what appeared to be firearms and pointed them at the victim before firing them at him and his vehicle.

The homeowner was uninjured and provided police a description of the suspects and the vehicle.

Officers viewed video surveillance from several of the residences and observed suspects and a suspect vehicle matching the description provided by the homeowner.

Shortly after 5 a.m., officers located the suspect vehicle and suspects in the area of St Lawrence Boulevard and Hillsborough Road a short distance away from the last attempted break and enter.

When police approached the vehicle, three suspects fled but were arrested nearby, while three others in the vehicle were arrested without incident.

A search of the vehicle yielded a rifle style airsoft gun and handgun style BB gun.

As a result of the investigation, six males between the ages of 13 and 17-years-old who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act have been jointly charged with the following offences:

·       Five (5) counts of break and enter with intent;

·       Five (5) counts of attempted break and enter;

·       Disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence;

·       Point firearm;

·       Discharge air gun with intent to endanger life; and,

·       Use an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence.

Four of the six accused have been released and are scheduled to reappear in London court on April 13, 2026, while the other two remain in custody and are scheduled to reappear in London court tomorrow in relation to the charges.
