London youth arrested

LONDON, ON (December 29, 2025) – A 12-year-old boy has been charged after members of the London Police Service responded to a fire in the east end of the city last night.

On Sunday, December 28, 2025, at approximately 9:20 p.m., emergency services responded to a working fire in a residential building in the 0-100 block of Clarke Road.

Occupants of the building were evacuated, and a suspect male was identified. 

The London Fire Department extinguished the fire.

There were no reported injuries. 

As a result of the investigation, members of the LPS Patrol Operations Investigative Section (POIS) charged a 12-year-old London boy with one count of arson with disregard for human life. The youth cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

The accused remains in custody and will appear in London court today in relation to the charge.
