Plan ahead and make smart decisions to keep you, and your friends, safe.
- You do not need to use drugs or alcohol to have fun
- Do not mix alcohol and drugs
- Do not drive drunk or high or get into a car with a driver who has been drinking or taking drugs
- Bring condoms with you if there is a chance you might end up having sex (and if you have them, use them)
- If you use drugs or alcohol, your judgment will be impaired; don't take unnecessary risks such as crossing train tracks and be careful around pools and water
- Have a plan for how you're going to get home; bring money for a taxi, have a ride home planned with a parent or sober friend, and have a backup plan in case your first plan falls through
- Always look out for your friends; if alcohol or drugs are being used, have a designated friend who will stay sober and make sure everyone stays safe
- Don't leave with someone you don't know or don't trust
