Police services recover hundreds of bikes a year, but have little information on who they belong to. By registering your bike, you'll help us know it's your bike if it's ever found.
529 Garage Bike Registry

The London Police Service has engaged the services of 529 Garage to provide a free bicycle registry to all people living in the City of London who are interested. Go to our “LONDON POLICE” registry page and be a part of our community based Crime Prevention strategy. Once you have registered, your bicycle and personal details remain private.
The app works to alert other London-area cyclists any time a bike is stolen or goes missing. Once the user determines his or her bike is missing, they activate an alert notification to 529 Garage, which sends out a broadcast to all users in the area to be on the look out for the missing bicycle. This information, along with a police report, helps us recover your bike in the case of theft.

Tips on preventing bike theft
- Lock your bike in a location that is highly visible.
- Use a high-quality lock. There is no point in buying a bike worth $500 or more and only protecting it with a $10 lock.
- If you are attending a store "just for a moment", lock your bike up - some criminals wait for this type of opportunity to steal a bike.
- Lock your bike while at home - people often have their bikes stolen right out of their open garage when they are in the house or backyard.
- If you can, remove the front wheel and lock it to the frame and locking post.
- Remove the seat and carry it with you.
- Remove your lights if you can, these items are often stolen by opportunistic criminals.
- Take a current photo of your bicycle and keep it in a safe location.
- Write down / take a picture of your bike serial number and keep it in a safe location.
- Remember the hot spots for thefts - health clubs, schools, outside of stores and in front of residences.
